And also if you invest in mutual funds do you still have to diversify with different sectors and securities? If you invest in a large cap mutual fund do you receive dividends? Also How fast can you sell a mutual fund?
If you needed to sell them in a hurry, how fast can you do it? (assuming you bought your stocks/mutual funds from a online brokerage like fidelity)
I recently opened a Roth IRA account with Sharebuilder (owned by ING Direct). They only list ING Mutual Funds on their website. (However there are a lot more stocks and ETFs listed). I’m interested in investing in a Vanguard Mutual Fund. Is it possible to do it through my Roth IRA account on Sharebuilder?
I understand the UTMA regulations prohibit minors from directly owning equities. Do these same restrictions apply to gold, silver, oil, aluminum, steel, etc.?
