Can anyone recommend software/tools for allocating shares in a stock portfolio?

Say I have 00 to allocate into 10 different stocks. I would like to enter 10 stocks and their current price per share. I want the app to caculate and show me how many shares I can buy of each stock.

Does investing long term in the stock market mean buying now and selling years later for profit?

And if say years later the stocks are some how worth less than the initial price when you decide sell, that would mean a loss, correct?
