Doing 2010 Income Taxes Yourself?

I was just wondering if filing income taxes online is easy to do? And if so, what is the best website to use that is also cheap?

  1. e-file.org

  2. You are doing your 2009 taxes now. Irs is free or use Turbo Tax

  3. It’s very easy. You can use TurboTax, or TaxAct, or any one of the other online tax prep sites recommended at http://www.irs.gov

  4. It is supposed to be easy, however!
Over the last couple of years, some people have complained about not having a copy of their tax return available or wanting to know how to get a copy for their records.
Some of the posters needed a copy because they got a letter from the IRS ashing for more info or they needed a copy for financial aid or something.
You can purchase tax software and install it on your computer and do your return.
You then have the option to e-file or snail mail your return.
It will also let you make a backup copy to disk and print out a hard copy of your return for your records and access to it when needed.
If you can itemize, you can also claim the cost as tax preparation fees.
Not all states allow you to e-file the state return and not all online services will file state returns.
Some allow your federal tax to be e-filed,but charge to file state returns.

  5. Go to http://www.irs.gov if you made under 57,000 you can efile for free! You can choose your own place to use. I used H&R Block and it was fast and easy! This was my first year efiling myself I usually done the RAL Loans but not this year! So just go to the IRS website and choose the place you want to use!
