  2. Question for yall: If I were to connect wirelessly to someone else’s wireless internet connection, that is unprotected, can they know and or access my computer too. Is it a two way connection? Just to disclaim, I have no deviouse intentions. I just stumbled across my neighbors wireless and am using it right now. I can’t afford internet access. Can I get away with this if I’m good and quiet???

  3. Good job at being nice and quiet about it. Unless they notice the increased packet requests, they won’t really know. Unless you’re obvious about it. Like using BitTorrent and downloading torrents with full bandwidth allocation or something.

    Please, what is the safest way to check email when you’re staying at a motel?
    The lobby computer has no anti-virus or anti-spyware programs installed. Someone could get my yahoo login.
    My laptop can connect wireless, but is it safe? Connecting to the motel’s wireless unsecured broadcast could open a door to my computer, right?

  10. If you have a computer that does not have a wireless internet card installed, can you still use wireless internet if you use a wireless internet “stick” (hardware)?

    I Cant connect to my wireless i double click on it and it says Invalid IP Address IP Adress 0.0.0.0 i tried editing it but i cant. My bro can connect to the internet easily so theres nothing wrong with my router! The only way im online now is because I a connected wired to my internet. SO ANNOYING! PLZ HELP!

  13. You need to rethink about getting wireless internet..THAT’S that. You can have cookies, milk, eggs, butter… you can even have a modem the truth is wireless sucks, you spend hundreds of dollars with modems or routers or whatever for what? To look for a signal and how strong is the signal at all 11 channels through a downloadable software? Get the f*** outta here. If I knew what a pain wireless is I would gladly have a dozen loose wires that provided me a strong and safe internet signal.

  16. there is ways to connect wireless.. Like netgeat PCI adapter with antenna inside your computer, plus the software must be installed first. External wireless adapter like lynksys. Install the software first then asks to connect the USB plug to your PC or laptop then put the WEP or passward and connect.. I do this for a living..I do PCI and wireless. Lynksys easy to install.

  17. I assume by stick you mean USB stick…yes. But there seems to be a limitation. The external wireless adapters are much more stable. I use lynksys 4gz and it works just fine. People be more concerned with the DSL/modem and its speed. DSL/modem must be stable to broacast signal to the connected laptops or pcs via wireless or cables.
