  1. That would be a question for your supervisor or your payroll department, not for this board. Different companies handle it differently, and it also matters whether you are salaried or hourly.

  2. There is not enough information to answer this question properly. Some companies pay biweekly some weekly and some monthly, also some hold back the first weeks pay, while others do not. You should talk with the HR person where you work to find out the answer for your particular situation. Congratulations on your new job!
