Network Marketing: Residual Income Opportunity or Pyramid Scheme?
I have been introduced to three systems that operate in the Multi-level Marketing so far, and all have sounded too good to be true. I must admit that I am looking for another opportunity just in case my job goes under (i.e. I’m working for the government), but I’m not the one to get caught up in la-la land from one-sided opinions. Is this whole multilevel marketing (also known as network marketing) thing as prosperous as their claims or is it as scam ridden as they sound?

Network Marketing (aka Multi-level marketing) can indeed be prosperous. Keep in mind that they are NOT get rich quick schemes, however. To be successful in this type of business, you have to be willing to talk to a lot of people and put in your time. Once you have built your base, however, it can indeed be profitable.
Looking to start a business now while you still have another source of income is a good idea. That way you still have the security of an income while building your business.
The key is to look for a good business to become involved in. How will variations in the economy affect your ability to build the business? Is it something with which you can cultivate both a down-line and an active customer base? These are both areas in which network marking can generate and income for you. Are you marketing luxury items, or things people use everyday, even when things are tight? Are you marketing to individuals or businesses, or both? Do your research, and find a business that fits both your needs and your interests.
Consider this while making your decision. How many wealthy Juice distributors do you personally know? On other hand, what industries do your friends or associates work in, outside of the government? What are their professions?
Any MLM company in the market today is selling at RETAIL price. Therefore distributors or MLM Reps will never be able to operate like a true business and make a successful business profit. Because businesses buy for less than retail.
So, from a business perspective that product is not a financial cash cow buying at the Rep level. The guy making the money is the manufacture, who in turn sells to the Noni Juice owner. Even the Noni Juice owner makes less.
Another thing to consider is the customer account lifespan. How long will people drink Noni? 5 months? And if you’re profit is $5 a bottle or $2, how many bottles and customers per month do you have to sell each month to make a living?
The MLM concept is good, however Reps are never in a position to win under those conditions.
You either want to own a company or sell a product with enough residual income (big enough) so that you truly have access to unlimited growth.

Yes you can become prosperous in network marketing. Just remember that for most people it will take a lot of work, time & discipline to learn the proper skill to become successful. So just be prepared for that.
You will also have to take a look at the people that will be helping you (bring you into the business) are they in it for a quick buck or are they really working the program. The rule of thumb is if you want to be successful you have to surround yourself with successful people. Meet the rest of the team or organization to see if any of them have the level of success your trying to achieve.
I know people in network marketing that have been in it for over 11 years who are only making around 50k yearly. I also know people that have made over 100k in the first year so with that said network marketing varies from person to person.
Whatever you do, don’t listen to the nay sayers most of them are a bunch of losers and hate to see others do good. Learn as much as you can and ask whatever questions you have so you will be prepared to make an intelligent decision. Remember everything has a learning curve.
