What resources are available to select a career?

I already have a BS in Microbiology. It really has not helped me at all in getting a job. So far, the only good idea has been to go back to school to study something practical. However, not many careers seem very interesting to me. Perhaps being a lawyer would be nice, or a psychologist, but it just seems too hard to get a job in those fields. So how do you determine what to do with your life, and once you do that, how do you get an entry level position?

  1. I’ve been in that situation before and its pretty obvious that having a degree does not guarantee everyone to land that job. As of the dictate of the situation our world is into, getting a job that is based on practical skill is more…err… practical these days… Say learn to cook by enrolling yourself to a culinary school and apply to big hotels as chef. Of course they will not hire you as chef right after your schooling because thay require someone who have years of expertise. They will hire you as a dishwasher or somewhere in a lower rank until you learn the do’s and dont’s in kitchens and all the tricks before being promoted as assistant to executive chef. you may put up your own restaurant and be like Mario Batali or Wolfgang Puck who makes big bucks not just owning restaurants but being sought after for their skills.

Browse your neighborhood for what it needs, you can even check the tv for that.

The most important thing of all is to know which things you really want to do that you are really good at.

Anyway, try this site as a start:

    Goodluck.
